Gwen held onto her tightly and just twined her fingers into the wolf’s fur, whimpering slightly as she closed her eyes and kept herself low to Zarina's back. Fallon kept pace right behind her, but once he reached the top, he stopped in front of the cave and stood beside the mouth and raised his muzzle to the sky and let out an ear piercing howl to the moon, which the pack members quickly answered and parted to allow them inside the cave. Stepping inside, Fallon lowered himself down slightly to let Raidon drop from his back, "Beta's and Omega's!" he said to the wolves, "You are to accept these elves as if they are members of our pack. Should you harm them, you will take it up with me! Also, I have news. I have chosen who will join me as my female alpha."

Zarina followed Fallon through the rather large pack to the center of the cave before she gently laid down so that Raidon might help Gwen off her back.  Raidon took Gwen by the waist and scooped her from Rina's back against his chest before he set her so that her good leg was under her, though his arm remained around her waist to steady her.  Zarina lifted her head as Fallon spoke, adopting a dominant posture, to which the others began to growl.  "Who do you think you are?" one of them muttered.  Zarina turned then, her ears swiveling to locate who had said it before she padded towards them, holding her head higher than theirs, "Be quiet!" she snarled, flashing her teeth at the member though she remained relatively calm.

Fallon stopped in the center and growled slightly when he heard the other females criticize his decision, "Do you question my authority?!" he snarled viciously, baring his fangs and spinning to look every member of his pack in the eyes, circling around Raidon and Gwen to make sure they weren't hurt. Gwen leaned into his chest and closed her eyes; her leg hurt like hell and all the moving around was straining her energy. A weak whimper escaped her and she tried to ignore what was going on around them.

Raidon swallowed harshly as he looked around at all the far larger and highly aggressive creatures, quietly he whispered against Gwen's ear, "We might have been better off dealing with the snow storm...." he muttered, clinging to her protectively.  Zarina's icy blue stare locked with the other female beta named Tara, her silvery fur standing on end at the back of her neck as she bared her fangs and snarled at the female, "You will submit to me... I am your alpha!" Zarina growled viciously.  Tara began to circle in unison with Rina, "I will never submit to you!  You only ever wanted to be female alpha so you could bully everyone... it’s my place, I've been in this pack longer then you or Fallon!" she snarled, snapping her jaws at Rina.  Zarina's blue eyes narrowed then as their circle widened, a fight was inevitable now, to turn down this challenge now would be to cast herself out of the pack.  Neither she-wolf appeared intimidated by the other, both bristling their fur and baring their teeth before Tara suddenly lunged at Rina, attempting to grab her by the throat.  Rina launched herself back on her hind legs as Tara lunged at her, though as she tried to tackle the female, she was quickly rolled onto her back, her vulnerable belly exposed.  Thinking quickly Zarina brought her hind legs up under Tara's body and kicked with her superior strength, launching the tawny she-wolf back into the stone wall of the cave with a loud thud.  Rina stood then and spread her stance to steady herself as Tara charged again, waiting until the last minute to side step the vicious female, sinking her teeth into Tara's shoulder and shaking harshly from side to side, releasing a torrent of loud yips and screams from the female, small clumps of brown fur tearing loose as Rina forced the female onto her side and pinned her with her full weight, "Do you yield?" she snarled, her teeth still clenching a thick slab of skin on Tara's shoulder.  When Tara didn't answer, Rina viciously shook again, until Tara began to yelp pleadingly, "I yield!" the beta whimpered.

Fallon growled slightly and bared his fangs, his black ears pinned to his head as he watched the fight with all his attention, raptly watching to keep an eye out for any signs of what the pack would call 'foul play' or cheating to get ahead. He growled again, but more a reassuring one as he bumped Raidon and Gwen with his nose gently. He stepped forward to the middle of the circle, waiting until Zarina released the lesser female beta and then licked Rina's muzzle, slowly nuzzling against her, "Do you accept her now?" he asked gently. Gwen swallowed and burrowed her head into his chest, closing her eyes tightly and trying to block out the yelps and yips of the fighting wolves.

Raidon cupped the back of Gwen's head, holding her against his chest, hiding her eyes against him and trying to cover her ears throughout the duration of the fight, surprised himself at the sheer viciousness of it all, its small wonder humans had feared these beasts so much, and still did.  Zarina released the female, spitting a clump of brown fur from her mouth as Tara slowly stood, her head and tail low as she limped back to her mate, her shoulder bloodied, though Rina had avoided excessively damaging her and she knew it.  Zarina smiled over at Fallon then before she raised her head and let out a loud, proud howl, to which the rest of the pack responded in acceptance of her position as Fallon's mate.  Raidon watched Zarina in fascination, an image of her as nothing more than a ball of white fuzz on the side of a dirt road when he found her as a pup.  To see her proudly standing there, howling at the moon with her pack as the new alpha female was amazing, with a smile he cupped a hand beside his mouth and made the best howling noise he could muster in support of her.  Zarina lowered her head then and smirked over at Raidon, nodding her head in a silent thanks before she leaned up to lick at Fallon's face affectionately.

Fallon stood beside his new mate with pride, his chest puffed out as he joined in with the howl, nearly the loudest of them all. As the howl died down, he chuckled when Rina became instantly affectionate again. Leaning down, he gave her nose a lick as well as her cheek and ear, practically bathing her face and muzzle in affection to reward her for her successful win, "You did it sunshine. You won them over." he teased and licked her nose once more. Gwen trembled and finally calmed when the fight was over, glancing up and smiling as she listened to the howls, closing her eyes and letting the harmony play over and over in her head.

Zarina smiled at the flood of affection she received from Fallon, giggling softly as she looked up at him, "Yes I did... because you believed in me..." she whispered, rubbing her head along his cheek and shoulder, her back rubbing along under his chin playfully as she led him towards their sleeping spot near the back of the den where it was flat and dry despite the foul weather.  As she laid down, she curled her body in a semi-circle and smiled up at Gwen, "Come here, I'll keep you warm." she offered, knowing the temperature would soon drop to a point where even an elf as hardy as Raidon would get a chill.  Raidon looked  outside as the wind howled and whipped past the entrance to the cave, though only a small breeze actually reached the back where they were.  Despite the lack of wind however, he was already cold, a much smaller elf, and a female no less, like Gwen had to be freezing already.  He tilted Gwen's chin up to him softly then and sighed, "I know I promised you would sleep with me tonight... but... honestly I'm not sure I can keep myself warm, let alone you too...." he admitted.

Fallon chuckled and followed her over to where they would usually sleep, laying down in his hulking wolf form and laying his head on his paws. Yawning slightly, he stretched out and then nuzzled his mates flank, whining softly and scooting closer to lay his head over her side. Gwen slowly limped over to Rina, stopping when Raidon touched her chin and whispered to her. She nodded sadly and touched his hand, her fingers were like ice, and she was shivering, "I'm sure Rina can keep us warm..." she whispered softly, "Then I can still sleep next to you..." she coaxed.

Raidon chuckled then and nodded, following Gwen over to Rina.  Zarina tucked Gwen up against her warm side as if she were a pup, giggling when Raidon snuggled beside Gwen and tugged Rina's fluffy tail around their bodies.  Zarina smiled to herself, feeling Fallon's head over her back and her elves by her side, she lowered her head down onto her paws and slowly closed her eyes, exhaling forcefully once before she began to breath heavily as her slumber set in.  Raidon chuckled at the she-wolf's ability to fall asleep quickly, his arms wrapping tightly around Gwen as he threaded the fingers of one of his hands with hers and pressed his forehead to hers gently as his eyes closed, his breaths growing slow and steady soon to match Rina's as he fell asleep

Gwen snuggled close to Rai once they were snuggled up against Zarina's fluffy body, instantly warming up and finally calm and her exhaustion set in... She fell asleep just as quickly as Rina did. Fallon smiled down at them, almost like his little family...but soon they would have a family of their own...but he did not know how long it would be... Yawning widely, he snuggled against his mate and dozed off into sleep...

As winter continued to linger on the planet, two long months passed, though they were hardly uneventful.  Since the nearly fatal ghoul attack on Gwen and Raidon, several small skirmishes had dappled the patrols; so far, no one knew what to make of the enemy army.  They had seemingly endless troops, sending hoards at a time to be slaughtered by the camp's well entrenched defenses... though the constant bombardment carried out horrid effects on the men, and women, there.  The small medical staff was plagued with fatal ghoul bites and dead or dying soldiers.  The camp's once relatively green and harmonious camp was now battle hardened and vicious... the lush grass having been trampled from marches in and out of the camp into nothing more than a muddy pulp beneath their feet.  An illness now made its way through the camps.... dysentery was setting in as the nearby creek became polluted with enemy and allied corpses and refuse from the camps.  As Raidon looked around at the troops he took a slow but deep inhale of disgust... what had happened to this army?  He had seen this before... war had never been easy, but the fact that it had grown so terrible so fast is what worried him.  He walked to his tent then and sighed, grabbing his bow on his shoulder and glancing over at Gwen, who over the past few months had begun to sleep in his tent with him on a regular basis, though the stress of being the only man in an army of thousands who had a woman was beginning to show.  He had grown overly protective of her, and preferred the stranger solution of sleeping in the werewolf den to sleeping in his own camp more often than not.  As the months had passed, changes had come too for the werewolves, though their den remained immaculate and their bonds remained solid.... Food had grown scarce, which worried the alphas more and more as their pack of nearly fifteen individuals began to lose weight in unison.  Zarina nosed the underside of Fallon's chin softly, an affectionate but worried gesture as she looked out over the pack, the omega Zeek... had been hit the worst by the lack of food, being forced to starve more often than not.  Though she herself had remained relatively well fed, Zarina had been feeling slightly off the past few weeks, growing winded more easily on runs and nearly unable to control her obsession with finding a dry, warm place to rest at night.  She sighed softly, because of the shortage of food, she knew her news, while normally joyous may make her pack angry, and she decided it best to tell Fallon when they were alone.

Gwen was in the tent that she now shared with Raidon; her head lowered to her work as she polished her bow and waxed the string, paying close attention to detail on the weapon that was more a work of art than a true weapon. Cleaning out the intricate carvings with a small stick that had a soft cloth stuck to the end of it, she didn't even hear Raidon enter the tent. Her red hair was braided in a spiral at the back of her head and pinned there to stay out of her face while she worked and fought, having taken to wearing it like that most often now with the random battles that broke out around camp. The life of the camp had become dreary and dismal, with men dying left and right as the winter hit its apex. The ghoul bite on her leg had finally healed over little more than two weeks ago, all that remained there was a permanent and devastating disfiguring scar that was like a dent in her calf. Although it didn't hinder her stealth or her agility, when she was just walking, anyone could see that she could not help but limp. Back in the werewolf den, Fallon sat by the entrance to their cave, staring out into the white expanse with his wolves amber eyes, his stare hard. His pack was slowly starving, and the deer had moved away...he would have to take his betas on a hunt soon if he was to feed his mate and the rest of his family. Rina had been acting strange lately, and it was bothering him...she was always one of the fastest, but lately she would lag behind and get winded easily...he was very concerned, and worried that she might have contracted the sickness that the humans seemed so easily prone too. Gently giving her an affectionate lick on the top of her head, he tried to push the worries from his mind, knowing that his smaller mate could sense all of his emotions...he did not want her to worry about the situation more than she had to. Fallon would do anything to protect his pack, even if that meant slaughtering thousands of disgusting beasts and running for miles just to find a few deer.

Raidon sighed heavily as he pulled his bow over his head, glancing over at Gwen as she labored on her bow.  He couldn't help the smirk that crossed his lips then... even here in the definition of despair; she brought a warm light to his heart.  He moved then to sit beside her, pushing a few stray strands of her hair aside as he leaned in and kissed her neck with a chuckle, whispering into her ear, "You know it’s only going to get dirty again right?" he teased.  Though his love for her had never waned, she seemed slightly more distant regarding her intimacy... Perhaps she was shy because of the horrible scars left behind from the ghoul attack... Perhaps it was the fact that the general feeling of the camp dampened any positive mood... He sighed softly at the thought and instead simply enjoyed what he could get of her as he took a deep breath of her scent.  He smiled; she was as fresh as a honeysuckle flower in spring...  Zarina looked up at Fallon and let out a soft whine, she could sense his worry.  Their pack was their family... and though the humans seemed to be finding enough to eat, a den of werewolves as big as theirs could devour nearly ten fully grown deer a day... if they didn't find more food soon, everyone would die, and this included her.  She swallowed then and shoved the negative thoughts from her mind as she pulled back from his shoulder then and blinked her blue eyes up at him, giving a few playful yips and swatting at his flank with her tail.  She smirked wolfishly and turned from him then, hoping he would follow as she padded slowly out of the den and into the snow as it fell in a light blanket on the ground.

Gwen blinked and set her bow down in her lap when he sat beside her, moaning weakly and turning her head to the side to accept his attention to her neck. Though she loved him, and wanted to be intimate, she was so afraid that her scar would be a deterrent to him...she didn't want to lose his attention because of it. Swallowing weakly, she slowly slid her hand up to the back of his head and closed her eyes, trying to hide the nervous emotion that filled her belly...what would he do if she asked him to be intimate...? He was so patient with her... Fallon blinked slightly and looked down into his mates soft blue eyes, giving her cheek a nuzzle and rose up from his belly on the cold stone. Following her out, he trotted after her out into the light snow and watched her walk ahead of him for a minute...how on earth could she be gaining weight when the rest of the pack was continuously loosing, even him. Her sides looked more rounded, and she had a glow...what was going on? He sped up until he was standing beside her, "Where are we going, sunshine?"

Raidon growled playfully against her ear, a smirk weaving over his lips as he began to lick and nip at her soft pale throat, god she was beautiful.... Every fiber of his being wanted her, had always wanted her, but still he forced himself to remain patient, afraid of scaring her when he was too insistent.  He licked up from her shoulder to her ear and smirked, kissing his way to her lips as one of his hands came to rest on her flat belly. He claimed her mouth gently then and leaned slightly over her as he heard her gentle moan and felt her hand at the back of his head.  His fingers clenched onto the bed sheets as his body became quickly aroused by her, but he resisted his own passion, forcing it back down into the pit of his stomach as his fingers relaxed again.  Zarina glanced back at Fallon as he remained behind her, though she gave a happy yip as he came up beside her, "Somewhere private." she said softly, giving his cheek a lick then as she led him up onto a hill, just out of sight of the pack's cave.  She smiled then and slowed, already winded as her swollen belly hung heavily under her, her fluffy coat not helping her to appear any smaller.  She sat then, panting as if she had run a mile instead of a quarter at a fraction of her normal speed.  "I... have something I need to tell you." she said, tilting her head playfully and smiling.

Gwen gasped and whimpered softly, relaxing slowly as his gentle affections made her squirm, his kisses like a drug...Her lips eagerly accepted his kiss, reaching up to cup his cheek as he kissed her. Playfully licking his lower lip, she opened her eyes slowly to stare up at him, "I love you Rai..." she whispered softly, completely out of character for her usually. She knew that he knew she loved him so she didn't frequently say it out loud. Swallowing roughly, she put her hands on his shoulders and pushed away for a moment, looking down at his chest, "Rai...w-we...need to talk." she mumbled, her fingers clenching onto his shirt. Fallon chuckled softly and nodded, following her up the hill slowly, he circled around her a couple times before sitting down in front of her and licking her face softly, "You do?" he asked and nosed her cheek before lowering his head to playfully nuzzle her swollen flank, "What could you possibly need to tell me that requires us being in private?"

Raidon pressed softly against her side as she returned his kiss with enthusiasm equal to his own, he smiled against her lips then as she pulled back and spoke to him, his green eyes staring affectionately back at her, "I love you more Gwen..." he teased, moving to nuzzle her cheek softly, though he stopped when she pushed away from him.  He swallowed roughly then and looked down at her, at her words he began to mildly panic... had he done something wrong?  Immediately he began to worry that he had let himself get too carried away, "Gwen I'm sorry.... I wasn't trying to be over zealous... I just..." he muttered, looking for the right words as he leaned back from her, one of his hands moving to the back of his neck and rubbing nervously.  Zarina giggled at Fallon's puppy-like treatment, she had always enjoyed how affectionate he was.... She sighed then, her smile melting partly as she grew a tad nervous, "I think... I think I'm pregnant Lon...." she whispered with a grin, rolling onto her side to flash her swollen belly up at him, "I'm all swollen..." she muttered, looking down at her own body and then up at him with a soft smile.

Gwen touched his cheek and shook her head, "Raidon...no..." she whispered and smiled up at his nervous behavior, "You didn't do anything wrong...but I know...that you feel like I've been ignoring your advances." she whispered and lowered her arms from his chest, "I'm the one whose sorry...you have such patience, when all I'm concerned with...is feeling like a disfigured freak, and being unappealing to you." she whispered and looked up at him with sad eyes. Fallon blinked and froze momentarily, sitting up straight and staring down at her in rapt attention, "You mean..." he whispered, his gaze shifting from her sapphire blue eyes...to her very swollen tummy. "We're gonna...be a family." he whispered, laughing softly, "I'm a daddy?" he leaned down and slowly licked her swollen belly, nuzzling it with his cheek and laying down beside her as she showed her belly to him in an almost submissive position, "No wonder you've been staying in your wolf form all the time. This would have been incredibly noticeable as a human."

Raidon swallowed, silencing himself as she spoke, surprised at what she was saying.  He listened to her for a few moments, his eyebrows coming together on his forehead as he sighed and cupped her cheek, "Gwen... now you listen to me... because I have two things to say about that..." he muttered, his voice gaining a serious tone as he stared into eyes and spoke, "I don't love you because of your beauty... I love you for who you are... No scar will ever change how I feel about you..." he whispered, swallowing softly before speaking again, "But if you have any doubts about your beauty in my eyes... don't... you are still my tigress..." he teased softly, nuzzling her nose, "And you've earned a new stripe... that's all." he said softly kissing the tip of her nose.  Zarina giggled at his reaction, nodding enthusiastically, "You're gonna be a daddy!" she repeated proudly, yipping happily when he licked and nuzzled her belly.  "It’s easier to carry the weight of them on all fours." she admitted to his comment about her form with a giggle.  She had given a lot of thought to the possible litter that grew inside her, she was positive that she was indeed pregnant, but the number of pups she would eventually carry was unclear.  She sat up slowly then and looked over at her mate with sad, worried eyes then, "As happy as I am about having pups..." she whispered, "I'm afraid Lon... if I don't get the nutrition I need I might lose them.... and the pack... they're not going to be happy about me bringing them more mouths to feed... We're starving as it is, even you." she whimpered, a canine whine eking from her muzzle as she looked down at him with sad blue eyes.

Gwen slowly leaned her head into his hand, looking up at him as he reassured her, "I..." she whimpered and squeezed his hand tightly, "Thank you." she whispered and scooted closer to his side, touching his cheek, "I don't know what else to say..." she murmured nervously and wrinkled her nose when he kissed it, giggling weakly, "Then...I've pushed you away enough." she whispered and slid her hand up behind his head, cupping gently as she leaned up to kiss his lips. Fallon chuckled and laid his head atop her belly, licking her soft belly fur as he listened to her, "I know that there will be some... anger among the pack." he whispered, "But we may need to ask the commander if we can change places. The camp is full of sickness...It's no place to bring pups into the world, and no place for the humans..." he sighed and laid his head on her side, "We will tell the pack whenever you're ready..." he gave her nose a lick, "And I'll hunt twice as hard to keep you and the pack fed..."

Raidon smiled at her reaction, watching her softly before accepting her kiss as she gave it.  He slowly laid her back, kissing her casually as he cuddled her to his side.  Zarina's swollen tummy jiggled a bit as she giggled up at him, his tongue making her squirm with ticklishness.  She sobered quickly as he mentioned moving to a new territory and smiled, "Yes... and though its agreeable... I can't seem to satisfy myself with our current den... I need something... private." she admitted, leaning up to lick his face softly, "I just wish I had the energy to help you...." she whimpered in reference to hunting, she had always enjoyed hunting, success had always brought her pride.  "We should talk to the commander first about moving the pack before we mention my pups..." she muttered then, "Perhaps the pack will be more accepting to the idea if we move to a new area with better hunting." she noted softly.

Gwen squeaked and smiled softly to herself, closing her eyes and kissing back softly. Cuddled up to his side, she relaxed slowly into his side and snuggled close to him, happy to have him to herself for just a little while. Fallon sighed to himself and nodded, nuzzling her cheek softly before standing up and stretching his body out for a few moments, "Then let's go to the commander now. We'll ask him about moving the camps. Until we move, we can find a new place for the two of us to sleep that makes you more comfortable." he reassured her and smiled gently, "Don't worry...I have plenty of energy to hunt for us."

Zarina nodded softly then and slowly stood, stretching out over the snow with her front legs and letting her backside remain in the air for a moment before she then stretched her back legs with a yawn. "I have complete faith in you." she growled playfully rubbing against his side softly then, waiting for him to take the lead and padding casually along behind him in her typical bouncy trot.

Fallon chuckled under his breath and licked her forehead and muzzle once she got up, playfully bumping her with his hip and smirking, "I think some…special celebration is in order when we're in private." he teased, giving her a devious look before walking off towards the camp. They made it back to the commander’s tent within ten minutes of walking, Lon not wanting to wear out his mate by making her run.

Zarina followed him slowly, her head twitching as the stench of death, disease, and filth filled her nose, her eyes closing for a moment as she swallowed back down a breakfast she wasn't sure she'd even eaten yet.  She sighed heavily then, walking up closer to Fallon's side as the humans watched them pass by, "I can't fathom leaving Gwen and Raidon here in this horrid place when we leave..." she admitted, the mud quickly caking onto her ivory legs and feet.  Instinctively she lifted her tail to curl up above her back, keeping it well out of reach of the vile soil.  To think that humans often referred to werewolves as uncivilized and disgusting creatures, and then see a scene like this made her stomach churn.  As the stench of the camp continued to swirl around her, her heightened sensitivity to smells quickly made her ill and passing the cook station only made her nausea worse.  "Lon..." she whimpered, closing her eyes and trying to concentrate on why she was here, her eyes flashed open then and narrowed as she focused on the commander's tent.... She was here for the good of her unborn pups.... if that meant dealing with a floppy stomach then so be it!

Fallon nuzzled her cheek, whispering gently, "Keep your nose against my neck sunshine...my scent should keep the stink out of your nose. " he assured her and tapped his chin atop her head, "The humans are disgusting... but maybe we should take Raidon and Gwen with us when we go." he murmured softly, "They may agree with us." he said gently before walking with her to the commanders tent and poking his head through the flaps.

Zarina quickly buried her nose in his soft ebony fur, nearly melting as his scent filled her nose and made her feel better.  She held her breath then as they walked, stopping when he ducked his head into the commander's tent, "I can't imagine he'll want to deny us.... surely he still remembers the last time he angered me." she snickered with a grin before burying her nose in his fur again to breathe.  The commander sat at a small table in the center of his large tent, his fingers rubbing his temples as he stared down at a map of the camp and the surrounding areas.  He blinked and coughed as a flood of polluted air rushed past his nose from the opening in the tent where Fallon's head poked through.  "Fallon... if you mean to speak to me, please come in... I know you'll understand when I say I don't care to keep the flaps of my tent open..." he muttered, trying to ignore the smell.

"I do indeed..." he grunted and moved through the flaps, waiting for Rina to follow him in. Once inside, he nuzzled her cheek and kept her close to his side, "It smells like rancid meat out there." he shuddered slightly and swallowed, "Commander, we must talk. Our pack is running low on supplies, our omega's are starving, and..." he nuzzled his mates neck slowly, his ears pinned to his head, "Zarina is in need of better conditions for the upcoming birth." he said softly, "My pack needs to move. We cannot survive here for much longer."

Zarina moved into the tent beside Fallon, letting the flaps close behind her and sighing, though she kept her muzzle near her mate's shoulder.  The commander sighed and continued to rub his temples as he listened, though his gaze shifted up to the large wolf at the mention of Zarina's pregnancy.  "Upcoming birth?" he muttered, "You mean to tell me... you got her pregnant on a battlefield??  She's supposed to be a soldier not a nanny! God damn it this is exactly why women don't belong in an army...." the commander grumbled, staring between the two of them.  Zarina's chest began to rumble with a deep growl as her lips began to curl back and flash her teeth, snarling as she snapped her jaws at him, "Your army is dying because of its own filth... What right do you have to lecture us on what we do or don't do?  If you are content to sit here and let your men die then so be it!  But we will not sacrifice our pack so that you can stay and defend your rotting mud hole...." she snarled.  The commander blinked up at the white wolf then and sighed, "Hormones really don't suit you well...." he muttered.  Zarina used one swipe of her paw to fling the wooden table across the room and through the side of his tent as she stalked towards the man, "You haven't SEEN hormonal yet!" she snarled viciously, her icy eyes narrowed and the fur on her neck standing on edge as she stared at him.

Fallon growled and his hackles raised, "You do not talk to my mate like that." he snarled at the commander, but when Zarina suddenly seemed to snap. He flinched back a little bit before stepping up and in front of her, feeling her nose and shoulder press against his neck, "Sunshine." he whispered soothingly to her, laying his head over her shoulder to calm her, "That's enough. Do not let Commander rile you up, think of the pups." he whispered into her ear, nuzzling her neck slightly before standing up straighter and turning to look at the commander, "Commander, we are leaving whether you like it or not. If you want to keep your wolves as allies, then I suggest you follow us away from your filthy little hovel. If Raidon and Gwen decide to come with us, you will not pursue them." He snarled and then nudged Rina back towards the door, "Let's get going."

Zarina resisted Fallon's charm, continuing to growl for several minutes before she slowly began to calm, her icy glare remaining on the man up until she flicked her head back towards the tent flaps and quickly exited.  As she walked, knowing Fallon was behind her, her hardened heart began to melt and she let out a whimper and stopped, standing in the freezing mud and staring down at her reflection in a puddle of standing water.  She swallowed then and sighed, "I don't know what came over me in there..." she muttered, "The way he was speaking... it was almost as if he was threatening the pups--" she trailed, still staring at her reflection in the water.  She was already more fiercely protective of these pups then she was of Raidon or Gwen... and they weren't even born yet.

Fallon stepped up behind her slowly once they had exited the tent. He laid his head over her back and stood still, waiting for her to relax and calm. Licking her cheek then gently, he whispered softly, "I understand sunshine...you don't have to be frightened...I will protect you." he murmured, drastically protective of his new family, "No one will hurt either of you." he promised and nuzzled her cheek weakly.
He was more right than he may have known... The thought of anything hurting her pups made her blood boil.  Zarina blinked her blue eyes then and sighed, leaning over to lick his muzzle affectionately before she began to pad off towards Gwen and Raidon's tent.  She pushed her head through the flaps and sniffed the air, glad to pick up both of their scents.  She glanced over at the cot then and gave a gentle bark in their direction.

Raidon blinked and looked up from Gwen with a chuckle, "Hi Rina." he laughed.  He looked her over then as she gave a small whine and tilted his head, "What's wrong?" he asked, quickly climbing off the cot and walking over to her to put his hands on either side of her fluffy white face, his green eyes full of concern. He glanced up then as he pushed the tent flap aside to see Fallon by her side, "What's going on?" he asked as Zarina turned her gaze up to Fallon softly.

Fallon nuzzled his mate’s cheek back and smiled softly when she trotted off to Raidon's tent. He slowly followed after her and stopped just outside the tent, not sitting down like he usually would because of the damned mud. He paced slightly outside the tent and glanced around, seeing a few sickly looking humans wandering between their tents and the cook station. Gwen whined pathetically when Raidon got up from the cot, rubbing her eyes and sitting up before she slid out of bed too and walked over to where all three of them were standing. Fallon nuzzled his mate’s cheek and sighed gently as he looked down at his old friend, "Rina is pregnant." he smiled gently while licking Zarina's cheek, "And...we can't stay here anymore. The deer have moved on, and our pack is slowly starving...this is no place for these pups to live." he whispered and nosed Rina's belly with a whine. "We're going to leave, and I want to know if you two would like to come with us."

Zarina rubbed her head against Fallon's shoulder as he mentioned her pregnancy again, the thought of it had scared her the first time she'd contemplated it, but now when she thought about it, her insides grew warm and fuzzy.  Raidon's eyes went wide for a few minutes before a large grin weaved over his lips as he looked up at Rina's big blue eyes, "Well I'll be damned... you grew up and started a family before I have." he chuckled, "I'm happy for you two!" he said, throwing his arms around Rina's neck as her front leg came up to wrap around him, holding his body to her chest for a moment before she lowered her paw again and Raidon backed away, giving a smirk and a wink to Fallon.  He sighed then, glancing down at Gwen, his gaze searching hers for an answer to their question.  "Gwen?" he asked softly, knowing in his heart that as much as he wanted to leave this mud pit, he would only leave if she came with him.

Fallon chuckled deeply and licked the top of her head before Raidon hugged her tightly. He grinned slightly as he watched, knowing that he did not need to be jealous of the small elf. He studied the three of them and slowly nuzzled his mate again, his eyes focusing on Gwen as she became the center of attention. Gwen swallowed and slowly looped her arm around Raidon's waist, "I don't want to stay here anymore." she whispered, smiling up at him, "If you want to go with them, I'll follow you anywhere." she nuzzled his shoulder slightly and then looked up at the two big wolves.

Raidon chuckled and tugged Gwen gently into his kiss before he glanced up at the two.  "We'll get our things together." he said softly, giving Gwen's backside a playful pat before he turned and began to gather his belongings, shoving them into his bag and throwing it over his shoulder.  Next he began to roll the pad from his cot, tying a string around it and then glancing over at the corner of the tent and smiling.  He walked over to it then and picked up the item wrapped in canvas, with a chuckle he turned to face Gwen then and glanced over at her, "I was saving this for a good time..." he said softly then, "But, to be honest, short of sleeping we haven't spent much time together so I never got a chance to give it to you..." he said, glancing at Fallon and then back at Gwen as he walked over to her with the item still in his arms, the canvas draped over it, though it was still obvious that it was a rather large item.  "I worked on this for nearly a month." he chuckled, holding it out to her.

Gwen gasped and giggled, kissing him back softly before she followed him into the tent. She chuckled slightly and rubbed her backside slightly before packing herself. Packing up her bag, she tied the strings that kept it closed and then slung it over her back after putting on her cloak. Fallon smiled slightly when he saw the look that Raidon gave him and nodded his head slightly, nuzzling his own mate. Gwen stretched slightly before turning to face Raidon when he spoke about a gift, "A present...?" she questioned and slowly pulled back the canvas, gasping and staring at it with wide eyes, "It's..." she trailed her fingers over the leather work and smiled up at him, kissing his cheek and taking it from his hands, "I love it, thank you so much Rai..." she whispered and then set down her bag and her cloak, "I'll put it on before we go."

Raidon's grin grew as she pulled back the canvas and he watched her face light, he chuckled softly and watched as she took it to put it on.  "You're welcome, I'm glad you like it... I figured it would more than make up for the fact that I can't sew worth a damn." he teased.  He turned then and pulled from the corner two additional pieces of the armor, delicately decorated matching bracers, "The whole thing is reinforced with metal plates.... even a sword can't get through this." he said knocking his knuckles softly against the stomach portion of the armor as she held it.  Zarina's lips curled back in a smile as she watched the exchange between them, thinking to herself how happy her life had become in the last few months.... Despite the dismal conditions of the military, she had found a mate, become alpha, was soon to be a mother, and her adoptive brother had found his soul mate.  She leaned casually against Fallon's shoulder and nuzzled against it as she watched Gwen tug on the tailored armor pieces, the new leather smell still clinging to them.  Raidon looked at Gwen proudly as she tugged on the armor; it fit her body like a glove.  As he tugged his bow up onto his shoulder and buckled his quiver onto his waist he smiled, watching her.

Gwen grinned slightly and unbuckled the armor and pulled it on slowly, adjusting it on her body and blushing slightly, "It fits perfectly, what did you do, measure me in my sleep?" she teased and buckled it, flushing brightly again when she took the greaves from him, "I don't know how I can repay you for these..." she murmured, chuckling, "The tunic I made you wasn't even this nice..." she slid the bracers on her arms and buckled them in place over the gloves she wore almost all the time. Once she was dressed, she giggled and looked down at her armor, "I do love it..." she picked up her cloak and slung it over her shoulders, tying it at her throat and smirking when it flowed seamlessly over the form fitting armor. Picking up her pack she slung it over one shoulder then, "I'm ready."

Raidon couldn't help the whistle that left his lips as he clapped and watched her finish the ensemble with her cloak, "Well... I dare say I've never seen a sexier woman in my life..." he chuckled, circling around her once and whispering in her ear, "I just measured everything in hands..." he teased, flattening his palms against her armored stomach and chuckling.  "And I didn't make them so that I could receive a payment... I made them because I wanted to make you smile." he chuckled, grabbing a leather canteen then and sliding it over his shoulder before he glanced around at the nearly gutted tent and sighed, he was ready.

Gwen looked around and sighed weakly before reaching and taking Raidon's hand in hers, smiling up at him softly, "Leaving the army together." she whispered softly, squeezing his hand slightly, "With our family." she grinned up at the two wolves gently. Fallon chuckled and leaned down, bumping his nose against the tiny elf girl's cheek before standing up tall and licking his mates muzzle as she nuzzled him, "I say we should go alert the pack that we're moving out. Zeek needs food as soon as possible, and so do you." he murmured.

Raidon lifted Gwen's hand to his lips and softly kissed it, holding it above his heart in his own hand for a few moments before nodding, "You'll never be alone in anything you do." he chuckled softly, watching and giving Fallon a gentle look as he nuzzled Gwen's cheek.  He glanced up to Zarina as she nodded to the her mate softly, "Our family indeed..." he whispered before walking with her from the tent, her hand still in his as he lead them from the camp and towards the werewolf den.  Zarina nuzzled Fallon softly then before she began to pad off behind Raidon and Gwen, tip toeing around the sections of deep mud, though it already caked her legs to her knees.  "When we exit the camp, be sure to clean this horrid muck off your boots... the last thing we'll want to do is lure the ghouls to our new den site with its stench..." she said softly.  Raidon glanced back at her and nodded as he repeatedly pulled his boots from the several inches of oily mud, "I remember when this was a lush green field just a few months ago..." he muttered, "I haven't seen conditions this bad in a military camp in decades..."

Gwen blushed and smiled up at him in return, her face flushed from his show of affection. Slowly squeezing his hand, she followed them all out after patting Fallon's muzzle in return to his playful doggy kiss. Walking along beside Raidon, she struggled through the mud with a whimper, holding her cloak away from the ground as best she could. Trekking through this mud was straining the recently healed muscles on her bad leg, but she did the best she could until they were free of the nasty mud. Once they stood on solid ground, she scraped the mud from her boots on the base of a tree before walking back over to them. Fallon chuckled as he looked down at Zarina and gave her flank a gentle nuzzle before she moved back to walk behind the two elves. He stopped in the middle of a clearing after they had walked a bit of a distance. He looked up at the sky and inhaled deeply, howling as loudly as he could, the sound ringing out in the coming darkness. It was a signal for the pack to leave the den and meet at the rally point that they had been told to meet at if the time should call for it.

Zarina lifted her head and howled with Fallon as they stopped outside the camp, their loud voices piercing through the trees and would be heard for miles in any direction.  With a sigh, Raidon had walked to the creek and begun to scrape the mud from his boots, scuffing his feet through the shallow water, using the sand to scrub away the mess.  "Ah... good as new." he chuckled, glancing up when he heard the wolves howling in response to their alpha's call in the distance.  He watched then as Rina came sauntering into the shallow water and looked up at him pitifully, the mud caked on her silver fur and splattered on her swollen belly, her blue eyes gazing up at him pleadingly.  Raidon couldn't resist, the look in her eyes was the same as she had given him as a pup when she needed something, "Aw hell... don't do that to me Rina..." he chuckled, "You wait till the first time your pups give you that look... it'll break your heart." he teased, reaching down and scooping water into his hand from the stream and starting to scrub the mud from one of her legs, lifting her padded foot and scrubbing it thoroughly.  The last thing she would need as a new mother would be a disease like trench foot.

Gwen followed Rai over to the shallow stream and slowly waded through the water that only came up to the middle of her calf high boots, the rest of the mud washing off. She smiled slightly to herself and walked over to Zarina, washing the mud off her belly as Raidon washed it off her legs. Fallon lowered his head from the howl and waited until he spotted his running pack on the horizon before he walked over to his mate and licked her face and waded into the water himself to let the flowing stream wash the mud off his lower legs. His taller stature allowed him to be less muddy from wading through the thick nasty mess.

As Raidon finished scrubbing Rina's last foot, he stood and stretched, "So... I have to ask... I mean, me and Gwen are rather fit individuals... but to keep up with your normal gait we'd have to jog... how far exactly are we going?" he asked, glancing up at Fallon.  Rina's eyes had closed for a minute when she felt Gwen's gentle hands on her belly, scrubbing the mud away when suddenly they blinked open and she let out a surprised yelp.  A tiny paw kicking its mother's side against Gwen's palm.

Gwen hummed softly as she worked, but Rina's surprised yelp nearly made her fall on her butt in the water, though she steadied herself, "Your belly kicked me!" she squeaked, her eyes wide. Fallon skidded through the water to Zarina's side and nuzzled her cheek, whimpering with concern at her sudden yelp, "Rina?" he whispered and nosed her cheek, "What happened?"

Zarina blinked and turned to look at her own stomach before she moved her head back to meet her mate's concerned gaze, "Little puppy paws... hurt." she giggled, nuzzling into his neck softly, though she gave a soft growl as the pups moved in her belly again, "I've never felt them move before... it’s so strange." she muttered.  Raidon couldn't help but chuckle, leaning in to speak to Rina's belly as he looked up at her when she watched him, "Hey... quit fooling around in there... your mother has a temper..." he teased, poking her stomach with a smirk. Zarina narrowed her eyes playfully then down at him and flicked her tail, smacking him gently away from her side.  Raidon chuckled and walked over to Gwen, putting an arm around her waist casually.
